are business for commercial purpose.
If Liu just publish an academic paper, or just
give speech in several schools free of charge,
yes, we are over-reacting. But that is not the case.
In this regard, Liu put herself, or be put by
her parents, into the same situation as a
Hollywood star. You benefit from public attention,
but you pay for it by subjecting yourself and
your family (voluntarily) to public scrutiny and
criticism.
Yes, it is tough be famous, but who wants to become
famous in the first place?
So, even if Xiao criticize Liu for commercial purpose,
there is nothing wrong with that. It is like
competition in the business world. Like it or not.
You can't just push your product and make a
gang buster profit but at the same time try to
stop others criticizing your product.
