this "merchadise" metaphor is interesting.

this commercial metaphor is very powerful, and once again reinforces my worries about the status of moral virtues in family education of the sort promoted by the Lius. put simply, it is a matter of waht sort of person are they making the kid into? i am scarred at the thought of making the kid confess herself and undergo ordeals.

the moral questions also arises as to the legitimacy of parents recording children behaviors and make those records into books for sale, using real names. certainly, LYT would say she consented to her parents' publishing all those materials, but a contentious person of the public has to be very cautious about someone profitting on publishing materials involving minors.
