在亚里斯多德的体系中，“物体整体重量等于其组成部分的重量之和”只适用于静止的情形。在落体体中不能做这种分析。这一点伽利略也承认：You must therefore conclude that,during free and natural fall, the small stone does not press upon the larger and consequently does not increase its weight as it does when at rest.
