GM introduced outdated products to China, and takes considerable market share. Although it is very common for foreign auto makers introduce a mid-class car or even outdated car into China and position them to be relatively luxury cars, GM is one of the most opportunistic player. Let’s look at engine between the American Buick and its Chinese version. From 1997, American Buick Regal is outfitted with 3.8L naturally-aspired or supercharged V6 engine. However, GM is red hot in China at present despite that it is dying in U.S. Consumer is the biggest reason why more and more greedy looser companies succeed in rebuilding their reputation in China.
