I have to say your knowledge of automobile is quite superficial.

回答: Why Shanghai GM sucks? 由 jhuang 于 2006-4-11, 06:34:50:

A decision to use smaller engine in chinese made buick has nothing to do with technology content. The CHinese market wants smaller engine, mostly due to concerns on fuel consumption and government regulation. That's about it. In fact using 3.8L as an example does not support your argument all all. Why? because that 3.8L was designed in pre oil crisis era with ancient posh rod technology(no overhead CAM shaft). 3.8L is 40 years old. Super chager doesn't represent technology either. IT's only a cheap way to boost horse power, cheaper but inferior to turbo charger. All smaller engines used by SH Buick are either SOHC or DOHC. I don't know anything about Nissan but GM is never good at producing fancy engine even in home market. I heard abour VVT, but as far as I know GM does not offer VVT in American models. There is no evidence proving your claim that GM intentionally chooses outdated engine for Chinese market.

Most cars you see in street DON'T have a chassis. But the pickup I drive is chassis based I believe.
