free speech. The chief editor can still say what he likes to say, but as an employer he is not entitled to use his boss's resource at will just to promote his own agenda.
BTW liberal leftist often confuses regulation with banning. Everyone knows media industry is heavily regulated in China, but that does not mean they don't have limited freedom.
