and fair, maybe meat a bit expensive, but american farmers have much more superior tech to cut down costs.
if one lives a month with chinese farmers, he/she won't complain about price hikes. if calculating compensation base on labor intensity per hour, i think those prices should be way way higher than now, only then it would be fair to reflect the real labor farmers contribute to society, and yes i already take account of the subsidies government give to farmers.
pity that most of the price increase won't turn into profits and income for ordinary farmers.no wonder most young farmers nowadays don't want to stay put.
instead of complaining about price hike and inflation, waht we really should worry more is in the near future do we still have enough farmers willing to sacrifice themselves to feed the nation?
