新生儿由于消化功能不完善，有可能吸收完整的蛋白质，但是
多项实验表明，即便是新生儿，即便是用药理浓度的IGF-1，
口服IGF-1后也不影响血液IGF-1的浓度，肠道吸收IGF-1可以
忽略。儿童、成人更不用说了。
巴氏消毒法虽然不能使IGF-1变性，但是高温处理后
（121摄氏度5分钟）的配方奶粉中已检测不到IGF-1。
另外，人的肠道自己也分泌IGF-1。1.5升牛奶中的IGF-1的含量
不及人的肠道自己分泌的IGF-1的百分之一。
