After treatment, the means of SBP/DBP are 141.9 ±15.4 mmHg /90.7 ±11.2 mmHg, with average decreases of 30.4/17.9 mmHg (p<0.005). Overall, 382 patients successfully controlled their blood pressure (success rate: 45.9%). However, 548 patients failed to be fully compliant with treatment plans (65.8%). Reasons included the misunderstanding of treatment, financial difficulties, unsatisfactory blood pressure control, inconvenience in taking drugs, and miscommunication with physicians.
Conclusion: strategies to overcome noncompliance barriers will significantly improve the success rate in treating hypertension.
