It means nothing to me.

Making sacrifice in order to send one's child to an elite school is the norm not exception. The question is: are people sacrifice to much? How much is too much? How many and what percentage of students have to give up going to PKU becuase their family can't help to pay tuition? How much is the tuition of BD anyway? You nned some data/facts to back your statement.

I agree society should help people to get quality education. But how about these students share the profit from such education after they graduate? Half of BD students go abroad after they are done with school and never contributed to the society, so why should society go out of its way to invest on them? And as far as I know, there are institutionalized tools available to help poor students. The real poor can apply for low interest loan and bursary. The money is good enough to cover a very big part of tuition.
