the problem is we lack science.
The European and East Asian share a common ancestor as late as 30K years ago; while they and African, 50K years ago. A 40% difference. That's gene and evolution.
In terms of agriculture, the Western European adopted agriculture about 6K years ago, while we invented it, independently 8K years ago. That makes us a little more "advanced", if you like.
For some unknown reasons, the West European invented a totally new way of thinking 300-400 years ago, science, and totally new way of living, industry. We, Chinese, after reaching the epic of agricultural society of any human societies, left behind ever since. I don't see a fundamental change of Chinese people has ever happened or will happen.
