What you said, in my opinion, are covered by work ethics.

I said before and I will say it again. Bosses make decisions. You shouldn't challenge that. But if you think he is making a mistake, you can and should voice your opinion. If he insists and the decision is made, yes, you should follow the order and try your best to be positive about it.

This, in my view, is not cost to me. I don't really care if the company is run down by bad decisions. I can always find anohter company to work for (if I can't, I am in trouble anyhow:-> ). It's my job to contribute with my opinions. But I am not paid to fight with the boss for the company's sake.

On the other hand, if the boss'decision has unfair personal impacts on me, I do have the option of appealing up the command chain. Of course, in each case I need to consider the cost and benefit of picking such fights.
