Poems are really hard to translate. That is not only because they are sometimes hard to understand, but also since they have special forms.

I have read some English translation of Chinese ancient poems. I really don't think the translation can be called poems anymore. They have become prose since they need to use more words to explain the meaning of the original poem and there is really no such forms in English poetry.
