Up to now supercomputer is still a big deal. But Chinese are going to make it not a big deal. Why? As long as Chinese can design CPU, they will make it commodity and sell it like cookies.
Dragon chip is not a bad chip, especially if we consider the money they spent on the development. It's ridiculous to compare it with some college term projects.
Guess you will learn the lesson when Chinese start selling the high-performance general CPU that cost something like $9.99 per lb.
