However, I am certain an expert in data encryption and space stuff. I did that for living. As for publication, we don't do SCI, only in milcom or similar things like that. Wang had shown that collision can be found in SHA-1 with 2^69 operations which is much better than brute-force seach. However, SHA-1 is an hash function, not encryption. And practically, she cannot construct a collision for an known digest, so it isn't really "breaking it."
