R2-D2 did end up with a pretty bad shape after the home run torpedo attack on the first death star. Huh, it seemed those rebal engineers did not match the high evaluation given by the imperial officers. They only made R2-D2 looked like new at the end of the movie, yet conceal the lost of functions such as flying by the mini boosters. Poor R2, he must miss those good old days a lot, while suffering the lost of the may-be only droid friend C-3PO, who had its every memory erased. I guess under such a blue mood, the little one might not even want to tell anything about the past to the metal face that only looked identical to the original C-3PO. Sad feeling.
