In your case, you do not need to define specific numbers. (xx% reduction in the occurrence of their xxx symptoms in a year)

Whatever number you get, statistic analysis will determine whether there is a difference of not between the groups.

"clinical significance" is a difficult concept to understand. Unfortunately, there isn't a good reading anywhere.
