the suvival analysis and QoL is good approach to conduct your study, as your study measure pts score before and after intervention, and you want to compare the change of score between two groups. If the stats prof insist and be welling to write most of analysis part in the grant proposal, it is ok. otherwise you may look into the approach I mentioned above using Proc MIXED procedure.
