We could easily say that this distinguish award for Youyou Tu’s research on Traditional Chinese Medicine represented the highest recognition from international community for a piece of medical research done solely in mainland China. Her research was described thoroughly by a recent article from Rao Yi. It is coincidence that this news arrived in an era when many self-indulged intellectuals inside or outside of mainland China occupy media spot lines to disqualify the values of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
