1.The observed improvement of the following criteria can be results of sacral nerve resection alone. Sacral nerve resection is somewhat analogous to anticholinergic medication:
a.maximum cystometric capacity
b.neurogenic detrusor overactivity
c.compliance
2.Voided volume improvement can be the results of the natural growth of kids. As children grow, their bladder capacity also grows, so does the total urine output. Three years are a lot of time for 6-8 year old kids
3.It is problematic to lump all the data together when the sample is small, as in this case, and with significant outliers. Let’s take maximum cystometric capacity as an example. This is the published result of the one-year: this sample was severely skewed by 2 numbers, number 2 and 5. This makes an overall failed study look successful. It is the result of good team work! Now you can tell how many were successful depending on where you set your cutoff point. Obviously, the 4 negative ones were failed cases.
