you care too much about "words" themselves to understand the concepts behind. For example, what is a "free falling body"? You were immediately thinking about those goats jumping between cliffs along a parabola. However, a free falling body can be anything moving "free" in a potential field. "free" here means any force acted on it can be described by a potential.
