it is not so much a scientific vis-a-viz ordinary langauage per se as the *reflexive* efforts getting at it that plays a critical role in the development of science. essentializing *the* scientific language is dangerous and even counter-productive. for, all theories and researches are eventually grounded in mundane practices with ordinary language (say, metaphor or analogy). therefore, it is rather the persistent procoess of getting at a so-called "pure" language that accompanies scientific advance. whether or not there is a product called *the* scientific language is another matter. and my personal view is that there is none.
