1 test your maximum heart rate by running as fast as you can for about 3 minetues.

2 your exercise intensity should be decided by the percentage of your maximum heart rate as:

Beginner or low fitness level: 50% to 60%
Intermediate or average fitness level: 60% to 70%
Advanced or high fitness level: 75% to 85%
