That time Terri was an adult, and that was the reason Judge sided with Michael. One reason Michael didn't want to release guardianship to Schinders because they expressed their opinion that even Terri truely wish to turn off life support, they won't do it, even at the price of quadruple amputation if needed. That's why Michael didnot divorce Terri and find to remove life support.
