He always wanted to do that, especially after getting US citizenship. The last few discusion about keeping Chinese passport and tax issue seemed to interest him a lot.
Maybe he is an essencially social science man trapped in the shell of mathematics/physics/IT. He.probably hate to be an IT career. Feels a traditional Chinese scholar, artificilly imposed with western value, knowledge, and life lifestyle.
The reason that he kept promoting those western values is not to teach others, but to convince himself who is deeply in doubt in identifying with current reality.
