Of course, it depends on what and who you are talking to. Military operations has certain behavior patterns, which can be studied. Taliban are insurgents, and they have their patterns too. Studying this patterns paints the path for improvement of military force. Without understanding the enemies, it makes even less likely to win a conflict.
