In fact, those people who 主张拥枪 are usually rednecks, extremists and criminals.

I doubt it. They are not closely related. We do not live in the mediveal age.
People who advocate 禁枪 are not totally against all kinds of weapons. They do not like the idea of "assault" weapon. Can you imagine the situation when criminals outguned the police? It did happen.
