China raised the satellite to a higher orbit then kill it. It created the largest recorded creation of debris, totally 2317 pieces trackable size debris scattered around. These debris survive very long time due to their velocity and post great risk to SVs around. For the US 193, most of the debris will reenter the atmosphere within months. The last ASAT done by the US during 80 only created 238 pieces of trackable debris. That means the Chinese used a large kill vehicle for its test. It is quit shameful for the Chinese government to claim its space programs do not post threats.
