I am grade to know that it is a railgun design just as what I knew before, not the MAG, which require the projectile itself to be magnetic so it can be accelerated by a set of magnetic fields.
An aluminum projectile is much easier to built and maintained than a magnetic one, I think.
Looks like the NAVY's plan doesn't require the ammunition to be explosive by itself, it will completely rely on the high dynamic energy to destroy the target, am I right?
So cool thing to see.
