Why is my refrigerator in the garage not working?

Okay, if you're from Calgary and you have a refrigerator running in an unheated place, the compressor is likely not starting. There is a device you can make up to add to the unit so it will run. I'll attach the article that describes how to make up one of these, which is from the second edition of my book to this email.

Unfortunately it's more or less meant for freezers though. Why?

It's because if it becomes colder than a refrigerator outside, the refrigerator has no way of keeping the food inside the refrigerator section from not freezing.

I suppose though if this is a problem, I could come up with a device that would prevent the freezing but I would need your electrical schematic.

Anyway, here's the article that tells you how to make a device to keep a unit running in an unheated space.
