i like watching international competition instead of the way american organize their pro sports: having their own rules and judges, using money and power to lure all world stars to perform within their control

face it, human beings have a tendency to fight and nationalism is everywhere. on a century focusing on peace and development, how to solve this paradox?

i have a solution, why not give sports this role of boasting nationalism? but there's a catch:

only so much, nothing more, no real fighting, no blood, no gun firing

chinese, americans, russians may view each as world #1, so why not compete in olympics and world cup to fight it out? instead of politics, arms race, missiles or aircfart menace

it's a perfect solution. europe might become a union, but germany-england football duel still means a lot.

when arg defeated england in world cup 86 quarterfinal, it meant a lot to argentines, after humiliation by britains in 82 faulkland island war. if a sports match could release some poltical/nationalism pressure, im would say it's a positive thing
