the SphE is a continuous variable in heretiablity calculation because the whole thing can be considered under the control of the same genes.

The longer or shorter of axis length is also controlled by the other set of genes.

If the SphE as a whole has higher heritablity, then it is reasonable to think that myopia is highly heritable--it is the two side of the same coin.
