Blues also has its own scales, a pentatonic scales with grace note, and the famous blue notes. It has it own chord progression. R&B derived from blues, but it also draw influence from pop, rock and Jazz, and more close to Soul and Funk. In fact, the term R&B is sometime used as the blanket term for Soul and Funk. Blues and R&B are quit different. Like Baroque, Classical and Romance music are all different.
