All depends on your expectation. If your career path is faculty, getting some experience like this is not bad. But teaching undergrad course with formal student evaluation is perhaps more useful. If you can publish while you work in the R&D division (is that right?) then without teaching experience, which you can gain from presentations and bullshitting anyway in the field, you may still be able to go back to the academia. Does this sound reasonable?
