1. They unwrap gifts box very carefully, so they can save and reuse the wrapping (especially those cheap but colorful ribbons)

2. When there is a sale on toilet paper, not matter in Costco or Target, they will buy 100 rolls and store them in the closet or in the bedroom of an adult child llikewise who has moved out.

3. They trend to keep a Thermos of hot water available at all times at home.

4. They save grocery bags, tin foil, and tin containers. They always use these grocery bags to hold garbage.

5. They hate to waste food. Even if they're totally full, if someone says they're going to throw away the leftovers on the table, they'll finish them. (then the mom will lecture about starving kids in Africa and dad will tell you his poor experience somewhere in China).

They have Tupperware in the fridge with three bites of rice or one leftover chicken wing.

6. They actually don't own any real Tupperware-only a cupboard full of used but carefully rinsed margarine tubs, take out containers, and jam jars.

7. They have a collection of miniature shampoo bottles that they took every time during the stay in hotel.

8. They wipe the plate and utensils or wash them in a small basin of hot water before eating, every time going to a restaurant.

9. There is always rice cooker and a slow cooker.

10. They wash the rice at least 2-3 times before cooking it althrough the rice is said to be washed.

11. They fight and yell (literally) over who pays the dinner bill with friends.

12. They all have a teacup with a cover on it.

13. If they're under age 30, they shall own a really expensive iPod or Zune, if they're over 30, they would own a really expensive camera with many lenses.

14. They're a wok user.

15. They only make long distance calls after 7pm.

16. They prefer the shrimp with the heads and legs still attached – it means they're fresh.

17. They never call their parents just to say hi.

18. If we don't live at home, when our parents call, they'll ask if we've eaten, even if it's midnight.

19. They, the parents tell you to boil herbs, roots and sometimes Tiger bones and Lizrad tears and stay inside when you get sick. They also tell you not to eat fried foods or baked foods because they're heaty (Yeet Hay in Cantonese, ReQi in Mandarin).

20. They e-mail their Chinese friends at work, even though they only sit 10 feet apart in the same office.

21. They always cook too much.

22. They eat every last grain of rice in the bowl, but don't eat the last piece of food on the table when going out for eating.

23. They starve themselves before going to All-You-Can eat buffet.

24. They always know someone who can get them a good deal on jewellery or electronics, computers.

25. They own their own meat cleaver and sharpen it often.

26. Their toothpaste tubes are all squeezed paper-thin.

27. They wrap with napkins all the knives, spoons and forks of the airline that they fly on and put in their travel bag as souvenirs.

28. They never forget to take with them all the unused bath and facial tissues when they check out from the hotel because they believe its was included in the price of the room.

29. They will laugh by themselves when reading or online.

30. And they will always proud because they're Chinese!
