What I am trying to say is: The Linux desktop interface has been dramatically improved recently. If you haven't install it in the last two years, try installing it to update your knowledge. If you never used Linux, it is the best time to do so.
From http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu you have 3 options to get a copy of this new Operating System:
1, download it and burn a CD.
2, pay to get it
3, register, and free copies will be shipped to your house! I got my copy yesterday, and it is shipped from Netherlands! It takes 30 days for me to get it. So if you don't want to wait that long, select option 1 or option 2.
The CD is a
bootable Live-CD, which means that you can boot from the CD and experience it instantly. All the modification and configuration will not be saved until you install it, but you can have Linux running without modifying your existed system/harddrive. So you have nothing to lose! It's like being a Christian, you don't need to pay, and you can book a place in Heaven!
