Richard Feynman got an offer from U. Chicago to triple his salary and he declined saying if he had that much money he would do a thing he always wanted to do, namely to have a mistress. He said he would be able to afford an apartment for her and to see her often. Then his wife would find out and be pissed off. And then his mistress would cry and all that (必然性!). To avoid all this mess he said he had to decline. U. Chicago Dean was really pissed off.
