don't really care about those people who would be rellocated and whose homes would be destroyed. All you want is your home country becomes richer so you will feel and look better in US, or you just want your big dream come true. While you have all the financial resource that allows you to live a in nice scenic suburban home of your choice, those poor famers would be forced out of their homes and land they have lived in for generations and would have no choice but to become cheap labors in blood and sweat factory. Sure occasionally they will crack a smile because they got a little sorry amount of Yuan in their pocket but are you sure tehy are really happier and so on...
As long as a decision is to be made by the national government, everyone in the country is entitled to voice his opinion. In theory NuJiang is not only owned by local community but by every chinese citizen so theoretically everyone is entitled to have a vote in the decision making process, regardless whether his reasoning is logically sound and regardless whether he is hypocritical.
So I say the pro-dam camp better stay focused: make it clear what your objective is. Do you want to build a dam or do you want to attack WeiHuanBao? These are two different issues. If you want to see a dam you need to be ready for working with WeiHuanBao and be ready to make compromise taht's how politics works. If you want to attack WeiHuanBao you better not get yourself too closely involved in teh process of deciding whether to build teh dam.
