but exactly against what the original proposed method
suggested.
the correct way to do is, with an "ultimate goal of
engaging in low(er) gear", let go gas, if car did
not slow down, brake but with clutch engaged, then,
(optionally) disengage clutch, down shift... and
continue until you hit the right range with right
engine rpm desired. disengaging clutch is optional
because for experts who can perfectly match engine
rpm with speed of car, one can do clutch less shift,
but not too many can do such a thing without
a serious tranny rebuild later...
