There are many gifted people around. Some are lucky because they like to do what they are good at doing. In that case, easy sucess and maybe happiness follows.
Some do not like what they are good at. There are some chose what they do base on what they like. One example is in 'Good Will Hunting'. In that case, these people go un-noticed as ordernary guys, and may leat a hard life, but they are happy, hopefully.
It seems wrong to me going on a path only because one is 'good at it'. Let alone be forced down the path before one is too young to make a choice.
