回答: Can you just figure out from the population vs medical school grads? 由 老中一号 于 2005-6-24, 20:19:11:

you do need to be careful. I always am.

Making an estimate is OK, but estimate has to be based on some assumptions. And assumption has to be reasonable. "common sense" or "gut feel" as well as "personal experience" should not get into the way how a conclusion is made.

Now if you are serious about the discussion, let's get these questions answered before starting:
1. what is the issue here? Chinese doctors are over paid? under paid? All of them? some of them?
2. What is the average and median income of chinese doctors? what is the income distribution pattern? What are the relationships between income and region, specialty, and the location/facility of hospital?
3. what's the percentage of chinese doctors who are demanding to have income level capatible to US doctors? and who are them?
4. How many chinese doctors who are currently in service at their full capacity?(no unscheduled idle time)
