When the time was good back a few years ago, my manager usually did not look at details of the bill before signing it. Time is not very good these days and I don't have a manager anymore.
I say if you work for a big company I suggest you not to save pennies on phone calls and meals when you travel. That way your boss would think you are happy with your assignment therefore will give you more trust. He does not care about how much you spend anyway, as long as it's no TOO MUCH.
