There is no big Niu work on DB after 1980-1983. In other words, even you are
a top gun in DB, none will considered you as a Turing award candidiate.
two best paper awards just mean you did the best work in the area.
I was in DB area back in early 80s. Then somehow I got a top UC Berkeley professor comment on DB: there is no need to have DB related conferences.
DB was listed as one of his research interests back then.
