And if China is within the norm, that your argument is entirely another topic (it's about how to do better, rather than whether the GDP lies). This simply means this kind of inequality (come out as visable data of poor living standard like high illeteracy, low school enrollment, low life expectency, not perfect but provides a clue) is common in most country with this kind of income.
Of course, it doesn't tells you the morality of huge inequality. Everyone is killing doesn't mean you can kill.
