What you have is an impression to reality which can be highly subjective. I'm not saying you are wrong.

It's true people have to pay more for health care and education, but my impression is the poor in the country side did not even have access to these things before, let alone worrying about the cost but what does that tell. One way to evaluate whether things are better or worse is look at life expectancy and adult literacy and admission rate for post secondary education. ANother things is any government policy and policy change creates winners as well as losers. Making everyone a winner is wishful thinking that's life one has to accept. For those on the losing side, if they have a choice to adopt to the change by changing their way of life they should do it, even though such change can be very painful, such as leaving home and land to work in unfamiliar urban environment etc. If they don't they are entitled to government help no question about that.

DOn't know what you mean by country side being bankrupt. China is still capable of being self sufficient on food proves its agriculture sector of the economy is doing well. It's just that farmers are at the low end of economic food chain but that's the way how economics works.
