I went here several times as well in the chilly winter for the wonder of Harlequin Ducks (next pic) where you could approach them at a fairly close distance and observe them under the sunlight, which allowed a good shot. They like the bouncing waves back from jetty (first Pic). Not sure if the jetty has been severely damaged by Sandy hurricane that occurred at Jones Beach, Long island. Nature shapes human efforts.
