简单一句话，你是否仍然认为“这几个人的引用没有一个和我对
两句话的翻译有任何矛盾之处”？如果是，那么你说明一下根据
你的理解/翻译，如何得出下面的意思：

“...the question that follows at once from Einstein's
pint: what, then is it in human thought and action that
makes the birth of early modern science an astonishing
event rather than one that was bound to occur sooner or
later?”
这里的astonishing event明显就是借用老爱的表述。

“In a delightfully cryptic letter by Albert Einstein,
quoted by Needham,the luck involved in making that
method（即科学方法）normal is noted”
在引完那封信后接着说：
“The West thus had the benefit of this accident, and
used it to establish massive technical dominance based on science.”

上面两个白大哥的说法我认为就是老爱最后那句话的直接引申，
而且“these discoveries”是指（西方）现代科学。而用你的
中国先贤的科学成就的说法根本得不出上述观点。这就是我们
争论的焦点。你要么承认跟白大哥的理解不一样（这也没什么
不可以），要么把你的理解跟上面白大哥的意思一致起来。或者
找出个跟你一样理解的白大哥来说明这事儿没定论也行。一再重复
你认为的流畅和你相信的什么就没意思了。
