During the 3-wk study period, the subjects ate all meals at school 5 d/wk. Instructions were given on vitamin–or provitamin A–rich foods to be omitted over the weekend when meals were eaten at home (eg, liver products,excessive amounts of carrots). Foods eaten during the weekend were recorded in a take-home diary。
