the third line is problematic and and in its semantic sense is controversial. as Mr. Fang said in his latest article, the nature in the scope of scientific inquiry is thought to be independent of human will (at least so from the perspective of logical positivism). but the last line you quoted seems to suggest that Tian does have its own will to "kill". in a hermeneutic sense, we must first determine what "kill" means and whether this (seemingly metaphysical) "Tian" can be equated to the materiality of the natural world.
