People usually stay in the office for at least 9-10 hours. When the project is on a tight schedule, a 60-hour week is a norm (without overtime pay). We were under tremendous pressure to get things done, that means we have to come in during the weekends, if necessary. I sometimes wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that US has the largest immigrant population in the world, and 1st-gen immigrants usually work extra hard.
